RRB ALP 2025 Educational Qualifications

A) Class 10th Passed with ITI from recognised institutions of NCVT/SCVT in the trades of Fitter, Electrician, Instrument Mechanic, Millwright/Maintenance Mechanic, Mechanic (Radio & TV), Electronics Mechanic, Mechanic (Motor Vehicle), Wireman, Tractor Mechanic, Armature & Coil Winder, Mechanic (Diesel), Heat Engine, Turner, Machinist, Refrigeration & Air- Conditioning Mechanic.

Matriculation / SSLC plus Course Completed Act Apprenticeship in the trades mentioned above
(OR)
B)Class 10th plus 3 years Diploma in Mechanical / Electrical / Electronics / Automobile Engineering (OR) combination of various streams of these Engineering disciplines from a recognised Institution in lieu of ITI.
Note: Degree in the Engineering disciplines as above will also be acceptable in lieu of Diploma in Engineering.

RRB ALP 2025 : Age Limit

Candidates must be between 18 to 30 years of age as of July 1, 2025.

Age Relaxation

Certain categories of candidates are granted relaxation in the upper age limit:

1. Scheduled Castes (SC) and Scheduled Tribes (ST): Relaxation of 5 years.
2. Other Backward Classes (OBC-NCL): Relaxation of 3 years.
3. Ex-Servicemen: Relaxation depends on the length of service.
   • UR: Deduction of service length + 3 years.
   • OBC: Deduction of service length + 6 years.
   • SC/ST: Deduction of service length + 8 years.

RRB ALP Selection Process

The Assistant Loco Pilot (ALP) exam pattern consists of multiple stages designed to assess candidates’ knowledge, skills, and aptitude. Here’s a breakdown of the exam structure:

Stage 1: Computer-Based Test (CBT-1)

• Mode: Online (Computer-Based)
• Duration: 60 minutes
• Total Questions: 75
• Subjects:
  • Mathematics (20 questions)
  • General Intelligence & Reasoning (25 questions)
  • General Science (20 questions)
  • General Awareness & Current Affairs (10 questions)
• Marking Scheme:
  • Each correct answer earns 1 mark.
  • Negative marking of 1/3rd mark for each incorrect answer.

RRB ALP Official Syllabus 2025

General Science: The syllabus under this shall cover Physics, Chemistry and Life Sciences of 10th
standard level.
General Awareness: Current affairs, science & technology, sports, culture, personalities, economics, politics and other subject of importance.

Stage 2: Computer-Based Test (CBT-2)

This stage is divided into two parts:

Part A:

• Duration: 90 minutes
• Total Questions: 100
• Subjects:
  • Mathematics
  • General Intelligence & Reasoning
  • General Science
  • Basic Science & Engineering
• Marking Scheme: Similar to CBT-1, with negative marking of 1/3rd mark for incorrect answers.

RRB ALP CBT 2 Syllabus 2025 : Part A

Part B:

• Duration: 60 minutes
• Total Questions: 75
• Focus: Relevant trade knowledge (specific to the candidate’s technical qualifications).
• Marking Scheme: Negative marking of 1/3rd mark for incorrect answers.

Stage 3: Computer-Based Aptitude Test (CBAT)

• Purpose: Assess aptitude for the role of Assistant Loco Pilot.
• Minimum Qualifying Marks: 42 marks in each test battery (no negative marking).
• Weightage:
  • CBT-2 Part A contributes 70% to the final merit list.
  • CBAT contributes 30%.

Stage 4: Document Verification (DV)

Candidates who clear the previous stages are required to present original documents for verification.

Stage 5: Medical Examination

Final shortlisted candidates undergo a medical test to ensure they meet the A-1 Medical Standard.

How to Apply for Assistant Loco Pilot (ALP) Recruitment 2025

The application process for the Assistant Loco Pilot (ALP) recruitment under CEN No. 01/2025 is entirely online. Follow these steps to ensure a smooth application experience:

Step 1: Account Creation

1. Visit the official RRB website of your chosen region.
2. Click on the “Create Account” option.
3. Provide your:
   • Active mobile number.
   • Valid email ID.
   • Personal details (name, date of birth, etc.) as per your matriculation certificate.
4. Authenticate your identity using Aadhaar for a hassle-free process. If Aadhaar is unavailable, alternate photo IDs can be used, but this may require additional scrutiny.

Note: Details entered during account creation, such as name, mobile number, and email ID, cannot be modified later.

Step 2: Online Application Submission

1. Log in using your account credentials.
2. Fill out the application form carefully:
   • Select your preferred RRB and Railway Zone.
   • Provide accurate educational and technical qualification details.
   • Upload scanned copies of your recent passport-sized photograph and signature as per the specified format.
3. Double-check all details before submission, as discrepancies may lead to disqualification.

Step 3: Application Fee Payment

• General/OBC/EWS Candidates: ₹500 (₹400 refundable after appearing in CBT-1).
• SC/ST/Ex-Servicemen/Female/Transgender/EBC Candidates: ₹250 (fully refundable after appearing in CBT-1).

Mode of Payment: Fees can only be paid online via:

• Internet banking.
• Debit/Credit cards.
• UPI.

Step 4: Final Submission

1. Review your application thoroughly.

3. Download and print the confirmation page for your records.

Step 5: Modification Window (if needed)

• If you need to make corrections (except for details entered during account creation), you can do so between 14th May 2025 and 23rd May 2025.
