IOCL Assistant Quality Control Officers Recruitment 2025: Educational Qualification

Candidates must have been awarded a Master’s Degree in Chemistry or equivalent disciplines from recognized Indian Universities/Institutes through regular full-time mode. Equivalent disciplines include Inorganic, Organic, Analytical, Physical, Applied Chemistry, and Industrial Chemistry. Branches such as Biochemistry, Pharmacy, Toxicology, Geochemistry, Pharmacology, Food Technology, etc., are not considered eligible.

  • General/OBC(NCL)/EWS candidates must have secured a minimum of 60% marks in the qualifying degree examination.
  • For SC/ST/PwBD candidates, the minimum marks required are 55%.
  • The calculation of percentage of marks in the qualifying degree would be governed by institute/university rules. Rounding off percentage is not allowed.
  • Candidates with a CGPA/GPI/SGPA grading system must submit a conversion certificate issued by their institute/university at the time of the Personal Interview, if shortlisted.

Experience Requirement

Candidates must have a minimum of 02 years of cumulative experience in the following areas:

  • Testing/R&D/Quality Control in Petroleum/Petro-chemical/Polymer/Fertilizer Unit Laboratories.
  • Experience in an NABL accredited laboratory with accreditation in the field of “TESTING” with a discipline as “CHEMICAL”. The lab should have scope under Group: Lubricants/Petroleum and Products.

Note: Teaching and Research experience in an academic institute will not be considered as relevant experience.

Age Limit: The maximum age limit for applicants is 30 years as of February 28, 2025. Age relaxation is applicable as per government rules: 3 years for OBC (NCL), 5 years for SC/ST, and 10 years for PwBD.
