Selection Process – IOCL Apprentices Recruitment 2025
The selection of candidates for apprenticeship training will be done strictly on the basis of merit. Key points are:
- No Written Test:
- There will be no examination conducted.
- Selection is purely based on academic performance.
- Merit List Preparation:
- Candidates will be shortlisted in descending order of percentage of marks obtained in the prescribed qualification (aggregate of all subjects across all semesters/years).
- Preference will be given to candidates applying for apprenticeship training for the first time.
- Tie-Breaking Rules:
- If two or more candidates have the same percentage, the following criteria will be applied in order:
- Date of Birth – older candidate will be ranked higher.

Step 1: Check Eligibility
- Ensure you meet the age limit (18–24 years as on 30.11.2025).
- Verify your educational qualification matches the trade/discipline you want to apply for.
- Confirm you are applying for only one trade/discipline. Multiple applications will be rejected.
Step 2: Register on National Apprenticeship Portal
Depending on the post code, register on the correct portal:
- For Post Codes 101, 102, 103, 108, 109, 110 & 111 , Register on NAPS Portal: https://apprenticeshipindia.gov.in
- Search for apprenticeship opportunities at IOCL Refinery Unit.
- Select your trade and complete registration.
- For Post Codes 104, 105, 106 & 107, Register on NATS Portal (BOAT): https://nats.education.gov.in
- After registration, apply to the advertisement notified by IOCL Unit.
