Post‑wise Eligibility Criteria for OICL AO Recruitment 2025

The eligibility requirements differ for Generalist Officers and Hindi (Rajbhasha) Officers. Candidates must meet the educational qualifications and age criteria as of 30 November 2025.

Generalist Officers (285 Posts)

  • Educational Qualification:
    • Graduate or Postgraduate in any discipline from a recognized university.
    • Minimum 60% marks in degree (aggregate of all semesters/years).
    • Relaxation: 55% marks for SC/ST candidates.
  • Additional Notes:
    • Degrees must be from institutions recognized by the Government of India.
    • Results must have been declared on or before 30.11.2025.

Hindi (Rajbhasha) Officers (15 Posts)

  • Educational Qualification: Candidates must hold a Master’s Degree from a recognized university with 60% marks (55% for SC/ST) in any of the following combinations:
    1. Master’s in Hindi with English as compulsory/elective subject or medium of exam at degree level.
    2. Master’s in English with Hindi as compulsory/elective subject or medium of exam at degree level.
    3. Master’s in any subject (other than Hindi/English) with Hindi medium and English as compulsory/elective subject or medium of exam at degree level.
    4. Master’s in any subject (other than Hindi/English) with English medium and Hindi as compulsory/elective subject or medium of exam at degree level.

Age Criteria (Applicable to Both Posts)

  • Minimum Age: 21 years
  • Maximum Age: 30 years (as on 30.11.2025)
  • Candidates must be born between 01 December 1995 and 30 November 2004 (both dates inclusive).

  • OBC (Non‑Creamy Layer): 3 years

Selection Process – OICL AO Recruitment 2025

The recruitment of Administrative Officers (Scale I) in OICL will be conducted in three phases: Preliminary Exam, Main Exam, and Interview. Candidates must qualify at each stage to progress to the next.

Phase I: Preliminary Examination (Tier I)

  • Mode: Online (Objective Test)
  • Duration: 1 hour
  • Total Marks: 100
  • Sections:
    • English Language – 30 marks
    • Reasoning Ability – 35 marks
    • Quantitative Aptitude – 35 marks

Candidates must secure minimum qualifying marks in each section.

Approximately 20 times the number of vacancies will be shortlisted for the Main Examination.

Phase II: Main Examination (Tier II)

The Main Exam differs for Generalist Officers and Hindi (Rajbhasha) Officers.

For Generalist Officers:

  • Objective Test (200 marks):
    • Reasoning – 45 Q, 45 M
    • English Language – 40 Q, 40 M
    • General Awareness – 40 Q, 40 M
    • Quantitative Aptitude – 40 Q, 40 M
    • Computer Knowledge – 35 Q, 35 M
  • Descriptive Test (30 marks):
    • Essay – 20 marks
    • Precis – 10 marks
  • Duration: 2.5 hours (Objective) + 30 minutes (Descriptive)
  • Note: Descriptive test is qualifying in nature; marks not counted in final merit.

For Hindi (Rajbhasha) Officers:

  • Objective Test (200 marks):
    • Reasoning – 25 Q, 25 M
    • English Language – 25 Q, 25 M
    • Professional Knowledge (Hindi & English grammar, translation, official language rules) – 50 Q, 100 M
    • General Awareness – 25 Q, 25 M
    • Computer Knowledge – 25 Q, 25 M
  • Descriptive Test (50 marks):
    • English Essay – 10 marks
    • Hindi Essay – 10 marks
    • Hindi Letter Writing – 10 marks
    • Translation (Eng→Hindi & Hindi→Eng) – 20 marks
  • Duration: 2 hours (Objective) + 1 hour (Descriptive)

Candidates must qualify in both Objective and Descriptive tests to be shortlisted for Interview.

Phase III: Interview

  • Candidates shortlisted from the Main Exam will be called for Interview.
  • Weightage:
    • Main Exam – 80%
    • Interview – 20%
  • Final merit list prepared based on combined scores of Main Exam and Interview.
  • In case of a tie:
    1. Higher interview marks preferred.
    2. If still tied, candidate older in age will be ranked higher.

Final Selection

  • Candidates must secure minimum qualifying marks in Interview (decided by OICL).
  • Final merit list prepared in descending order of consolidated marks.
  • Appointment subject to medical fitness and verification of documents
